The High Commission of the Republic of Mozambique, the Investment Promotion Centre (CPI), and South Africa-Mozambique Chamber of Commerce
(SAMOZACC) in partnership with Invest North West are hosting a joint business linkage Seminar on April 14th 2010,
at Rio Convention Centre in Matlosana, North West Province.
The seminar serves as an ideal platform where North West Province can be informed on Mozambique's economic performance and most importantly
about investment and business linkage opportunities in the Manufacturing, Mining and Science and Technology sectors.
Mozambique's huge untapped potential in the above sectors includes:
- In manufacturing, opportunities exist for food processing, furniture, construction materials and equipment, packaging, textiles and apparel, chemicals, metals, printing and recycling;
- Opportunities can be found in the extraction of bauxite, limestones, diatomite, bentonite, coal, heavy minerals
(Ilminite, Zircon and Rutile). Services and products (linkage opportunities) can also be supplied to ongoing mining
projects such as heavy Mineral Sands Project - (Kenmare); Moatize Coal Project (Vale); Coal Project Benga - (Riversdale); Rovubue Mines (Esta Star);
The objective of this workshop is to provide a platform where businessmen can discuss the fundamental aspects of business development in the Manufacturing,
Mining and Science and Technology sectors, the current status of sector development, its legal and administrative framework, and the possibility of
establishing partnerships between potential investors from both sides.
